PROVINCIAL
Each province offers different levels and types of incentives. Please click on your province to see what types of incentives are available for your geoexchange installation.
- The LiveSmart BC’s Efficiency Incentive Program is available to homeowners in the Province of B.C. who have an initial (pre-retrofit) energy assessment performed on or after April 1, 2010 and complete a follow-up (post-retrofit) energy assessment by March 31, 2011.
- Alberta does not currently offer any grants for geoexchange systems.
- Through the Saskatchewan EnerGuide for Houses Program the Saskatchewan government will provide a grant of $3,500.
- Manitoba’s Residential Earth Power Loan Program will provide homeowners with a loan of up to $20,000 at an interest rate of 4.9% to be amortized over a maximum of 15 years.
- Through the Efficiency New Brunswick offers the Existing Homes Energy Efficiency Upgrades Program the province will subsidize up to $400 of the cost of the home energy audit, and provide either
- A grant of 20% of eligible upgrade costs (including HST) to a maximum of $2000; OR
- An interest-free loan of up to $10,000, repayable over a maximum 6-year term.
- Through the Your Energy Rebate program all electricity consumed in a home is now eligible for an 8% rebate. The rebate is automatically deducted from your bill.
- EnerGuide for Houses Program will grant $1,500 for a residential geoexchange retrofit, plus $300 towards the cost of the energy audit
- Through PEI’s Energy Efficiency Loan/Grant Program, the province will completely cover the cost of the ecoEnergy audit for low income households, and only $100 will be charged for all others (some limitations apply). After the audit you can apply for a $1,500 grant, or a loan:
- 0% interest for low income households, and 25% of the loan is forgivable for household incomes from $15,000 to $35,000, and 50% of the loan is forgivable for household incomes $15,000 and less; or
- 6% interest for households with incomes over $35,000.
